Prayer for acceptance

This nonsense about the media picking on us for the sex abuse cases within the Catholic Church really has to stop. Of course we're being persecuted. That's part of the job, so stop muttering already!

We are the one Church of Jesus Christ.
Like the flock of Israel before us, we are meant to be a sign to the nations. What is happening is supposed to be happening, because we are called to lead by example and the abuse of children by their fathers kills their souls as surely as an abortion by their mothers kills their bodies.

Martyrdom for the sake of Christ is a duty, a privilege, and a blessing.
Let it be done to us according to His will so that we may lead the rest of the world closer to him. This I ask through Our Lord, Jesus Christ, through who and with whom and in whom we all find our life and our true salvation. Amen.

What about the children who have been abused? Isn't the church supposed to protect them? I love my church, but the evil within it must be purged and to close your eyes to it is to enable it.

You are misreading what I have written. Evil sins against innocent children were indeed committed by some who had taken vows to be Christ and to bear Him to others. My exhortation is against those who were claiming at that that no such crimes existed and that the Church does not need to acknowledge, accept responsibility, atone, and amend our policies to make such wickedness less likely. They were making excuses for that which no one can excuse.
